Three ways to get the best out of your Littlbug camping stove!
Posted by
onYou’ve made the investment, now it’s time to make it last. When you’re out on the trail with your Littlbug stove, it won’t take long to realize its lightweight, max-efficiency characteristics.
Knowing how to assemble and disassemble
it effectively, keeping it clean, and understanding how the Littlbug can be
stowed in or on your pack are all ways you can learn to maximize
the enjoyment and use of your Junior or Senior Stove. As you get ready to experience a whole new level
of Leave No Trace camping, here are a few tips to get the best out of your
Littlbug stove, maximizing its life for treks to come.
Assembling
and Disassembling the Littlbug Effectively
There are many different ways to put the
stove together, but the best way is to attach the pot supports first, then snap the front
and rear panels together.
Disassembly is best done by pressing in on a side rivet which will separate the front and rear panels. Then, the pot supports can be easily removed. If you remove the pot supports with the front and rear panels still assembled, you will have to twist the parts which will likely shorten the life of the stove.
Ultimately, it’s critical to remember not
to twist the parts when assembling and disassembling the stove. Simply using
the method suggested in the instructions is your best strategy.
Keeping
the Littlbug Clean is as Simple as it Gets
Traditional cleaning with soap and water
is not necessary. The primary cleaning consideration to make is removing soot
from the stainless steel parts. How do you get rid of soot from the Littlbug?
You can simply wipe if off the stainless steel parts using a dry rag.
Manipulate
the Littlbug to Fit YOUR Hike
With many rigid, less flexible camping
stoves, it can take extra time and planning to ensure it isn’t taking up too
much space or loaded in a way it can be damaged or dinged. The Littlbug is
constructed to make the packing process less tedious and more of a walk in the
park.
The curved parts are flexible and can be squeezed or spread to fit around the various shapes in or attached to your pack. The curvature of the stove pieces make for a tight fit when new. However, after your stove's been heated and packed a few times, the pieces will loosen up, which is normal. The fit can be re-tightened by spreading the pieces out to increase the curvature, making them flatter.
