When it’s time to prepare for my next backpacking excursion, I inevitably have hard decisions on what to bring and what to leave behind. It’s a pretty incredible feeling when I can pack my Littlbug Senior camping stove and not even have to think twice. At 19 ounces, the Littlbug Senior Stove provides an incredible amount of cooking and warming power that I will use multiple times per day during the journey. While it does burn alcohol, it also efficiently burns wood, which means I don’t need to carry the additional weight of fuel.
I was always taught that part of the secret to packing efficiently is to not waste any space. The Littlbug Senior Stove is designed to wrap AROUND my sleeping pad. Whether I’m visiting a State Park, or exploring the wilderness, the Littlbug Senior Stove provides plenty of warmth and capacity to serve me and the entire group.
The Littlbug Senior Stove is our largest capacity stove. The stove is constructed with durable stainless steel, burns wood or alcohol, provides a stable and versatile cooking platform and is uniquely designed to wrap around a sleeping pad for easy storage and transport. Works with most commercially available alcohol burners (burner not included). Storage pouch available (see related products below).

Great product

Cooks quickly, cleans up easily, is light weight and stores away in my pack without using up any space. Love my littlbug and take it on all my backcountry trips.

So Versatile
Posted by Randy E on Apr 24th 2021
Fits in and shines in almost all camping situations. I do a lot of backpacking and canoe camping, some car camping as well. Thumbs way up except for UL backpacking, where you'd use the Junior, I find cooking simple on this amazing lil gem. That's not the end of it though. For small campfires (think reduce your carbon footprints and chop down fewer trees) in the evening is just perfect. I even use it in my backyard!

Top notch

I am a sea kayaker and have taken many a journey. Have been looking for a wood fired stove that can hold larger pots for groups when canoeing/kayaking. Have used mine multiple times now (though not on the water); holds GSI Dutch oven, easily. Also have used an 8 quart stock pot, again no problem. When tripping, will use it with Banks Fry-Bake expedition and titanium pots. Also bought the fire pan and pouch....all packs together nice and compact and light for what is capable of. Heck, I might just purchase another and burn them side by side, cooking huge meals for a group in the BWCA.!.

Best portable firepit 2020
Posted by Corey T. Morine on Oct 14th 2020
Hands down the best portable fire pit on the market today. Whether you keep a tent in the back of your car or travel in a Prevost XL the Little Bug should be with you. It can be completely disassembled if space is at a premium or just dropped in a large pot and left under the sink so it's always ready to go. Perfect for boondocking with its lightweight of only 19 oz it won't stress your payload.
If you get to camp late but would like a fire for an hour or so the Littlebug Senior sets right up, you'll be roasting marshmallows or relaxing by a bright cheery fire in the time it takes to plop it on the ground and toss a few twigs and tinder inside. The perfect venting and dimensions of the stove create an amazing burn with the twigs and sticks you can find on the outskirts of most campsites. No need to build a large, smokey fire on the ground and work it up.
Perfect for cooking! The Littlebug senior was actually designed as a stove for backcountry canoe expeditions and its internal baffles are also pot rests. So if you like to cook breakfast or just coffee out on an open fire but don't have the time or inclination to work up a ground cookfire the Little bug senior will be there for you.
High-quality craftsmanship and materials will last a lifetime. Excellent customer service and communication for any questions you have. And the best fire; radiates good heat, lots of bright cheery flames, and little to no smoke.
Thank you LBE!

Already have the jr. There are a lot of twig/alcy stoves out there, but I still see the littlbug as one of the best for form, fit, and function.

Works in a downpour under the tarp
Posted by Gary on Jun 8th 2019
I brought the stove to the BWCA. Packs almost without taking up space. I useds it in a downpour of rain and wind back in the woods under a tarp to fix a large pot of stew. No problem and no sparks reached the tarp to put holes in it. If you are going to be stuck under a tarp, hot stew is the a way to go and making it is done well by this stove.

Best wood stove period
Posted by Rob on Sep 16th 2018
After using different wood stoves and traditional fuel stoves this is the only one that will always make my pack. All other wood stoves I have used are hard to load with enough wood to make cooking easy. This stove is so simple. Load it up and away you go. No need to constantly be feeding little twigs. The little bug senior is a beast.

Works fantastic!!
Posted by Unknown on May 4th 2018
Heat is concentrated up to the pot better than any other stick stove I have, (I've got 5 stick stoves). It's easy to assemble and works well with the fire bowl to protect the ground. Be careful, the tube walls get very hot very quickly but, somehow cool down remarkably quickly once removed from the embers. Got 2 quarts to boiling in approximately 8 minutes.
The circumference of an ensolite pad is too tight to wrap a Littlebug Sr. around. However, fit's perfectly along the outside of a sleeping bag stuff sack.
This stove is not ideal for a solo backpacker using single serving pots. However, it is ideal for quart size and larger pots.
I'll be bringing this stove for my canoe tripping & car camping trips. But, it'll also get a lot of use in my backyard.

Great product and service

I picked up the Littlebug stove at the Terlingua, Texas Post Office. Thanks for rushing my order through and sending it General Delivery allowing us to have the stove for our trip. The Littlebug stove was the hit of our 13 day, 191 mile-long trip through the Great Unknown and Lower Canyons of the Rio Grande River. We used the stove morning and evening for cooking and warmth. The stove's design and materials are a perfect marriage resulting in a compact, lightweight, and efficient machine. Airflow through the stove results in fast, easy starts and efficient burns. Many mornings we started a new fire from the previous night's hot coals. We love the stove and it was a pleasure doing business with you.
